How we rate

How we rate

This page explains how operators and products are assessed on fidgetsguide.com, so that you can check any article on this site against the same criteria we use when writing it.

What our assessments are based on

Assessments are based on published terms, licence information and publicly available sources. In practice, that means the documents an operator makes available to the public, the information published by the authority that licenses it, and other material that any reader could look up and verify independently.

We do not test games for fairness ourselves; that is the work of accredited testing laboratories. Where an operator or a game supplier states that its products have been examined by such a laboratory, we report that statement as a statement, and we say where it comes from.

The criteria we apply

You can hold any article on this site to the following checklist. If a point is missing from an article, it is because the information was not published or could not be confirmed from a public source — and in that case the article should say so.

  • Licensing: which authority licenses the operator, and whether that licence can be confirmed from the authority’s own published information.
  • Terms and conditions: whether the general terms are published, readable and specific, and which clauses affect withdrawals, account closure and eligibility.
  • Bonus and promotion terms: whether wagering requirements, qualifying stakes, game restrictions and expiry conditions are stated in the published terms rather than implied in marketing copy.
  • Payments: which deposit and withdrawal methods are listed, which currencies are named, and what limits or fees the operator publishes.
  • Games and suppliers: which suppliers are named, and whether published information identifies who makes the products on offer.
  • Player protection tools: which tools — such as deposit limits, time-outs or self-exclusion — the operator states that it provides, and where in its own material they are described.
  • Support channels: which contact routes the operator publishes, and in which languages they are stated to be available.
  • Transparency: how easy it is to find the above from the operator’s own pages, and whether published claims are consistent with each other.

Commercial relationships

Some links on this site may earn us a commission. A commercial relationship with an operator does not change its assessment. The criteria above are applied in the same way, and from the same sources, whether or not such a relationship exists.

Corrections

Published terms change. If you find a statement on this site that no longer matches the operator’s own published information, please tell us and tell us where to look, and we will check the source and amend the page where it is wrong.
